Frequently asked questions
-
Will it suit me? - Most definitely! Angela will design and tailor your treatment 100% to you and your requirements, checking that everything discussed and designed you're 100% happy with before carrying out the treatment.

-
Does it hurt? - Everybody's pain threshold is different. Some people find it slightly uncomfortable, most find it pain free, some even like the feeling! Angela will do her best to keep you as comfortable as possible using comfort gel throughout the appointment. Generally most people are surprised by how comfortable it is!

-
How long will it last? - PMU can last years, however, some clients retain pigment better than others and different types/styles will last longer than others, as well as different pigment colours. Because of this it is recommended that you have maintenance appointments, usually around12-24 months to keep your SPMU looking perfect!

-
Does the colour have to be Dark? - No! All SPMU does appear darker at first, but the colour will be chosen with and for you, Angela will also create a custom mix if needed to make the perfect colour to blend with and compliment your skin & undertones. The colour will usually lighten by 30-60% when healed dependant on the area & skin type.

What happens after my treatment? - The area may feel slightly tender, swollen & red. This usually subsides within the first 24 hours, however some areas/people will have longer lasting side effects. The colour will appear darker over the first few days, it will then scab over lightly and the scabs will come away on their own. At this point your PMU may even disappear! This is completely normal, don't panic! It will develop over the full healing time. You will receive aftercare to follow which will guide you throughout that time.

What's the difference between Semi-permanent make up (SPMU) & Permanent make up (PMU)? - Nothing! Some class PMU as SPMU because results do fade, but usually over time some pigment will remain in the skin even after a long period of time which is why we actually prefer to class it as PMU. There are also different types of pigment that we can use, some will fade more than others, while some will hold in the skin longer, there are pros and cons to both types!
